PR can be a myth, but we still need to try to keep our rankings high to get more traffic. Am I getting the idea or not?
PR is not a myth. It's very real. However, very much of what you hear about PR is not necessarily true. For instance, an increase in PR will not necessarily increase your traffic, nor will PR contribute much at all toward higer SERPs.Quote:

It appears you're confusing PageRank with SERPs.
The importance of PageRank is only great for those who want to host advertisements from their sites as PageRank is quite a requirement to be able to get a good value in return. But, if you are looking for SERP popularity, PR is definitely not a goal you should be looking at. ;)
