The original idea behind article directories was not to get a link fromthe directory, but from the (hopefully) multiple sites that pick up and publish your article on their sites. The single link from the directory was an unintended bonus.
So ... if your articles are not being picked up and published on several relevant sites, you're not getting the full advantage of articles. When it comes to articles, all this worry about "duplicate content" is off-track and misguided. Multiple copies was what article marketing is all about.
