Facebook appears to be more social while Twitter has more business and networking significances. Linkedin has them both beat for networking for business.
I have been a member for several years and have several hundred people whom I have met over my career. I have used LinkedIn for doing research on companies and finding sources to interview for stories or leads to new story ideas, as well as a place where I can collect references for previous work that I have done for my consulting clients.
I like to think of LinkedIn as more of a BtoB network. Facebook on the other hand, is just social, whichever way you look at the site.
Anybody who has an account in LinkedIn would know that there is a more professional atmosphere in the site compared to that of Facebook, which is based on a personal networking concept. They have been head to head as networking sites for a long time, but in different niches.
People often ask me which is the way to go FaceBook or LinkedIn, my response is "Think of LinkedIn as Facebook for suits". LinkedIn keeps you focused on career orientated things, your CV, what others are doing and talking about in your professional circle.

Facebook is one of the best Social networking site
I prefer facebook always
facebook is really on the top of the list of social networking sites.it is is good platform....
LinkedIN 91%
Facebook 9%
Obviously Facebook is still not makeing huge inroads into the 'business world'.
LinkedIN on hte other hand is learning from it's own mistakes (being the market leader), and getting better and better. Even the GUI isn't that boring any more (almost)!
Facebook is a toy while Linkedin at least makes some effort at being a professional resource so it's a bit like comparing apples as well as oranges. There is also a Wordpress plugin for it which makes for an interesting blog.
You can never compare LinkedIn and Facebook for they have different audiences to cater since the first one is a social bookmarking sites while the latter is a social network.
I've noticed that Linkedin has been improving in results for marketing campaigns
I do prefer LinkedIn for the professional business aspect. Facebook to me is more personal.
I do agree facebook is for friends and family, let linkend be for business only..
Try both at a time i.e. linkup both of them with each other and enjoy their benefits.:)
