Look into feeding your products directly to Google Shopping, Bing Shopping, and TheFind.com. All of which are free and will bring in traffic, volume unknown however. There are some decent pay per click product search engines you can also submit to, they are pricey, but may come out even with adwords. Those sites are ShopZilla, nexttag, buy.com, etc.
Here is Google's info page for feeds : http://www.google.com/intl/en_us/pro...owitworks.html
There are other social shopping site worthy of looking into such as ThisNext and Kaboodle. These sites are like social bookmarks but for products.

Facebook ads offers easy to use, low-cost advertising. If you haven't already, create a business Facebook page seperate from any personal Facebook page you may have. This will allow potential customers to follow you on Facebook and the first to see current events, discounts and sales. Good luck

I'd go with social media. Get a fan page on Facebook and ask some friends to like it and get Twitter account. On Twitter find followers interested in your branch and start talking. That should drive traffic! However, remember that you should share some useful stuff through social networks, not only advertise the eshop itself.

Just starting out, you should work on SEO by first optimizing your site and each page for certain keywords (presumably the product you're trying to sell). Good content is what drives traffic and drives Google to rank your site highly.

Ezine
I have found great success by creating industry specific posts on Ezine Articles. Simply write an article a month and have that article link to your personal website and you will find that over time, traffic will begin to spill over onto your website.
This is a common practice for SEO firms.
-
Dynamo321,
How much of that traffic from your articles comes from the actual ezinearticles listings/directory and how much from other websites that have published your articles on their own pages?
-
Actually in true seo form, the success I have found resulted mainly from the power of the "backlink" that was created by Ezine.
Because Ezine articles is such a powerful site in the realm of seo, each article page I write only generates a select few hits from it; however the links generated as a result of the article has raised the page rank or perceived value of my website and that is what was most important to me. As a result of my article postings, I am receiving more "legitimate" random traffic to my site. Because the site is well optimized, my article efforts all go together to make a good statement to google. I can talk a lot about this topic if you would like.
My first aim from the start was not really to gain direct traffic as a result of the articles, but rather raise awareness while deepening Google's perception of the importance and value of my site.
An example of a basic article of mine would be:

I hope this helps.

Yes, it helps. Even more helpfull is your admission that you get little traffic from the article links and that most of what you do get comes from the directory, and not from sites that have used the article in their own content.

I'd recommend a site like ozbargain or you could try the daily deal sites...

I am truly glad my words helped. Let me know if there is anything else you wish to know :)
