Sorry, not true. There are numerous sites with PR 1, 2 and 3 at the very top of SERPs for the same keywords as sites with PR 7, 8, and above. PR does not contribute much to SERPs, contrary to what some "experts" would have you believe.

So PR is just like a side effect of increasing traffic? Like a progress indicator, if you have high PR you are doing well?

I think higher page rank matters especially when into online marketing because search engine search for quality content and reliable topics and also a nice keyword too.

And none of those things has much, if anything at all, to do with PR. None of them will give you PR and PR will give you none of them.

According to this thread there is no such thing as PR. If I take it as true then also the relevancy of Traffic is there too. If you are linked to such a site which has a good traffic then the chances of getting a good traffic for your site is also increased.

Google ranks websites founded on a scale from 0 to 10, evaluating the "importance" of websites. If the majority of your web traffic comes from Google, as well as your Page Rank drops, you're in problems, But high PR means more traffic coming to your site through Google search.

It jumped from PR0 to PR4. Lots of original content in good English, plus lots of backlinks.
