What is the best option out there that you know of for banking.
my needs are for the most part this.
Need to beable to pay via credit/debit card to distributor in the amount of 500-10,000 dollars for the invoices.
need to send customer's checks or some form of payment for incenitives for previous purchases and such/rebates.
and of course low or no monthly maint. fees and such.
registered as sole prop. in case that makes a difference.
I'm not sure what your question is.
As a sole proprietor you can open a business account with your Business Certificate. Doing so will allow you to open merchant accounts with Master Card, Visa and AMEX. Your customers will have to make the checks out to your business name.

I signed up for a BofA business checking and money market account not long ago and have had good experiences since. I even use them as my gateway. My volume of sales is similar to yours, of which I was given a free account. They only asked that I use my debit card at least once a month.
Transactions over $1000 can place your business in a high risk merchant account category. Therefore, suggest international bank transfer is the best solution. However, many international bank transfer firms will accept applications only from companies that are doing significant volume of transactions. Another option for you is to use an ewallet for international payments such as paypal or moneybookers.
I also use B of A for the past 5 years and have been happy with them. No problems so far (except the usual monthly maintenance fees) so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I'd recommend looking at local, smaller banks who may appreciate and support small businesses more. That's what I did and I feel like I have a real partner on my team.
