I have just purchased the Clickfree automatic backup 160gb hard drive. I have a dell computer with windows XP. When I connect to the USB port a balloon comes up saying I have a power surge and to disconnect. has anyone else come accross this, it all sounded so simple. I am not very computer savvy so it needs to be simple.
If there is a device driver shipped on CD with the harddrive, you need to install this first before connecting the harddrive. Likely as you first plugged in the harddrive, the wrong default driver was installed.
An other thought... may it possible that the harddrive has no external power and tries to get its power from the USB port ? On some (older) computers this generates problems. As far as I can remember, USB only delivers 500 mA.
For the free clicking of backup set files have all set of the applications or not if there is any problem in the setup files or not....
