I have set up a little shop/community website for watches and ready for some business :) I thought it would be cool to show it here and get some suggestions from you.

I like your site but I question your site title 'Watches for Discussion'. I have no idea what that means. You should consider changing it to something more in line with what the site is about and I'd guess it's selling watches. Your title tag is arguably your most important meta asset so it should be considered carefully.
I got weary of navigating to a watch I was interested in only to find that it was not available. After a couple of those I am gone, never to return unless I have an opportunity to email you and put it on my wish list and even then I am going someplace where I can buy what I want to buy...NOW!
Your front page is working against you. Let's get right down to the business of buying watches. I am distracted by scrolling all those images. I am there to buy a watch...hopefully and you've distracted me. Put thumbnails of your most popular watches on this page. I want a watch...not rhetoric.
Your key words? Well frankly they are bad. Little or no research has gone into them and it shows. You are in a highly competitive business so get competitive with your meta tags.

This is the right attitude and my shop should follow this. Although I have planned to show news and articles on the frontpage, I am happy to follow your tip and direct visitors who are interested in buying a watch to my shopping page. I think I have to make landing page where I can put top rated and most popular watches.Quote:

You have a good idea by combining the community and ability to buy watches. However, I would not reserve so much space on the homepage for the 'community'.
First and foremost should be capturing orders. Get people to buy. Then, entice them to get involved through email marketing.
Those who are in the watch community will find the section. They will peruse your site more in-depth than a visiting watch buyer. Dim the lights on this section a bit and focus more on moving product.

you don't seem to have any hover state for any of the links. Pretty much an industry standard, I would add them.
I can see where people could get frustrated. I was looking at one of your Concord Ladies watches and when I clicked the "shop now" button, I expected to be taken to the product page where I could make a purchase. Instead, I end up on an Amazon page and need to search to find that watch again. As Roban said, you really need to set up a real shopping cart and attache the blog to it, or you will lose a lot of sales.

You have a hover state in the left navigation now, but the next-to-last link increases the font size when you hover over it. Also now your drop-down menu is appearing behind the page element below it.

But are youusing IE, right ? I just noticed that only Girard font changes. Other links should work just like that when hovering them. Looks like IE paradox to me again.
I'm not sure what you meant with the last sentence. Are you saying that drop down menu aka sub menus are appearing behind the watch that is in the down left corner ?
