I just started my Final year University Degree project which is an analysis of personal bandwidth management software.
I read the article about Propel's solution and would like to see if anyone knows which bandwidth management technique it uses, such as CBQ for example.

Maybe I missed something, but what is a "personal" bandwidth manager ? I know about bandwidth management for servers and networks...
Ah, I found something on the Internet :-) Well, had not much time to read more about this software, but generally I think that such jobs (bandwidth management) are better left to the QoS feature of the network router, aren't ?
"Personal" means an application that runs on a home user machine, by which the user is able to manipulate the bandwidth allocation to different internet accessing applications.
I found some other personal bandwidth management systems, that use queueing for example. I think that QOS is also involved, but I don't know. I have also contacted the software house, but no reply :(

Interesting... but I don't think that such piece of software has much future - the CPU time taken to manage the bandwidth directly on the computer may not worse the affords. Especially that many people doing VoIP and using streaming media have a broadband connection and therefore manging bandwidth makes no sense on the local computer, but more likely at the point Internet -> LAN (front router).
Please let you clarify my doubt that is suppose in my organisation we have 500 pc's.Every pc has internet connection.But among all the employees some of the emplyees consuming more bandwidth so my question is how to find those employees.
There are softwares that will monitor entire networks and individual workstations within that network for bandwidth usage. Pure Networks Speed Meter Pro is one example.

There are lot of bandwidth meters are available you can simple use an one they are eaqully effective.
