Yahoo Merchant Solution - Problems

I've been having lots of problems with Yahoo Merchant Solutions. :mad: After doing a quick search through some old threads, it seems like I'm the only one. Has anyone else had problems with Yahoo?

For example, every since late last night, no one is able to access the shopping cart. 1/2 a day later, it's still not fixed and today is a huuuuge shopping day. I'm just missing out on all those sales and there's nothing I can do about it. And, this isn't the first time. Over the last 4 months, our site has been unable to take orders over a half dozen times -- all errors on Yahoo's end. They seem to have a lot of problems ("error 400" seems to be popular one!).

Is it normal to have so many problems with a storefront? Is it just Yahoo or is there something else better? Any comments would be appreciated! :o

Hopefully you contacted Yahoo to see what the issue was? Did you try to access the site from a different ISP / provider to see if that was an issue. MegaProxy is a free site that you can use to see if the site is at least accessible from other providers.

Since Yahoo is a domain provider, a hosting company and offers an electronic payment gateway - that will help to know where the problem might be as well.

It was definitely an issue on yahoo's side. In fact, the outage made the New York Times and other major newspapers. it was an issue with their checkout manager. Anyway, this isn't the first time we've had problems with them. Does anyone have any experience with MonsterCommerce or other ecommerce companies?

So it was Yahoo hosting then that had a problem? Not really the electronic payment gateway? I have been away and not reading that much news.

If it was the hosting or gateway understand things happen from time to time. If you are happy with them - consider staying with them. Sometimes it is more problems changing. And remember if you switch to another company, you will probably need an electronic payment gateway to help faciliate the transactions.
