Market research tools

Hi,
I can't seem to find any free market research tools on the web. If anybody knows where can i get info like: how many people were searching for a word or a product, during "N" amount of time. With up to date statistics would have been nice of course :) .

Also, check out the firefox SEO extension. It lets you view #links, pagerank, #searches, etc for sites as you browse.
