Hi All,
I am currently evaluating both Accpac ERP and Simply Accounting. I need to have the gl, ap, ar, ic, oe, po, payroll. What I don't understand is, why Accpac ERP is costing so much more than Simply Accounting when it seems like both can do the job. Can anyone point out some advantages that Accpac has and is worth paying the extra money?

If Simply Accounting works for you and you are happy with its functionality - then that is the better choice for you. As i recall Simply Accounting is written in Microsoft Access.
Accpac is more of a "channel product" whereas local resellers are available to help your business run on the application. If you plan on growing your company to more than 6 users and need more "hand holding" then accpac is the better choice - if you can afford it. Accpac is written in Foxpro - except for the web based version. It should be pointed out that Microsoft will not be releasing a 64 bit vesion of FoxPro and that the next version of Windows (Vista) will mostly be in 64 bit form. Foxpro will be able to run on a 64 bit computer in compatiability mode. It is something you should keep in mind since i assume you want to run the program for more than just a few years.
I would like to suggest that you take a look at interprise suite. Its still in beta, but is far more affordable than Accpac with much more features. A 3 user version will be completely free as well.
