Mapping software to plot multiple locations
Hi
I am searching, with no sucess, for software that would allow my salespeople to create sales/prospecting routes.
What I want is a program that could take a list of several hundred addresses from my database and plot ALL of them on a single map. This would allow a sales person to say "Oh look, that company I wanted to call on is right near a current client"
Does any one know a product that will do that?
Thanks for your help!
SFA with Mapping Software
Hello Howard
Allow me to introduce myself as L Santhosh, from HEW Software Technologies, India.
We do have an SFA product called HEWSales (http://www.hewsales.com) and also have an inhouse GIS Team that works on map related services for a leading telecom company in India (Tata Tele Services.)
I read your message and found it very interesting. I have immediately discussed it with our team members and we for sure see a possibility of having customer related information plotted on a map.
We however foresee the following issues ...
1) We do not possess any map information of any other city other than Bangalore (the city we are located in.)
2) This (SFA with map information) is not a readily available solution, hence we may need some time to execute (SFA product is ready, but integrating it with map information.)
I would really appreciate if you could address the above-mentioned issues.
One, you may lead us to a map service provider who may have information about the geography you are looking for or tell me the locations you are looking for and we can locate a map information provider.
Two, how much time do you have?
Since we are equipped with the required SFA software, skills, expertise and manpower to execute the job, we think we can service your requirements. Would appreciate your thoughts on the same.
You can either mail me your thoughts at [email protected] or post the same in this discussion forum.
Best regards
L Santhosh.
GIS - a question of scale
Hi guys,
If you need a basic mapping application, that's one thing.
If you need a stronger GIS appliaction, that's something else.
One strong, capable GIS application is ESRI ArcMap.
It's probably outside the budget of many very small firms,
but you can use it for site location analysis,
sales trade area building,
geodemographic demand estimation,
competitive analysis, etc.
It imports simple XY (lat - long) text files easily.
