Limiting Access
Hi,
I am starting a project to create a website. Essentially, i want to run it as a free site in certain parts of the world (Asia) and charge for the same or similar content in others (Europe). Is this possible, i mean can i limit access to the site, basically so that people from asia are directed to the free site and people from Europe are directed to the other?

Yes. Simply talk to your designer or web tech. There is a simple way to know where a user is located when they access your website.

In order to be a bit more detailed: This is done by checking the IP address of the website visitors - if the source of this address is in Asia, you direct people to the location X, while others are directed to the location Y.
X and Y then means either to password protect content or not (having some kind of content management system (CMS) that allows you doing this).
Anyway, for someone not familiar with the technical background, you really should hand this over to your webdesigner or system administrator.
But be aware that such systems can be fooled easily by using a proxy server claiming the request coming from an other location...
