Do you think submit to directory is effect?

Now i have submit my site to lots directories, and i have a question,is it effect?You know some of them need you add his link in your site,and some of them need money, if i add it free,maybe i need wait for a long time and at last it could not add mine.
And i 'm puzzled whether there have people log in the directory site to see it?
So i think maybe it just wast time. Right?

As a soon-to-be ex-directory owner my opinion is a big fat NO! Links are only effective if they are from sites relevant to your own.

I read your question regarding submitting sites.
I found that submitting site to places like google ask yahoo and the other top ones are good.
My question is
I submitted to a few dodgy sites that state you have to link to them.
I did.
Do you think that these sites are usefull or are the simply getting free links improving there rating and offering paid stuff.
Should I delete them from my site? As I dont see any improvement?
And do they add spyware or hidden stuff that I cant get rid off?
Also I get loads more viagra rubbish adverts and casino ones to!
Do they sell my e-mail?
Finally who do you recommend submitting too (both of you)

Hi,

My personal opinion is it's not a good idea to go with hundreds of directories to submit your site. Just pick up couple of top most directories to submit your site. It would be better if you find directories related to your them.

some directories are good are fast approving and have a good influence on your page rank so will help you. but you have to know which ones cuz there are others that doesn't really do anything and the part with add reciprocal i honestly don't recommend it to you they will gain more from this situation that you will so it's not efficient.i've been working in SEO for a while and i can tell you for sure. but if you wanna someone to submit it for you for an amount of money be sure you check that your site will be there not for just a short period of time.And how someone has told you before be sure you submit it to the right category and if you may to related directories.

Exactly the same question in ma mind was running down. I have experienced by ma own self that DIR do matter but it will take time to approve . I suggest you to make Submission to DIR it will give value in future ven it is approved. Problem with DIR is it will take very long time to approve.... from quality sites.... Bit waste of time but it will credit to our site as well for improving rank in searches as well...

Directory submission, ARTICLE submission and etc are just steps of SEO but practically they don't work according to what we want. We just have to do it because they will increase the chances of getting traffic thts all.
