    How Consumed Are You?

Those who work in e-Commerce have two things going against them:
    1. Results are so instantaneous, we can rarely step away.
    2. We love what we do.

So, how consumed are you in your work? How many hours/week do you guys work?

I work about 50-55hrs/week and I'm getting the sense that I may be on the light side of the spectrum.

Well, I do the typical 40 at TAPCO and then anywhere from 5-15 hours on my own site. So I'm right there with you. I find it a lot easier to step away now than I did at first.

Since my ecommerce site is not my mortgage payer I don't spend all that much time on that site but I do spend 40 - 50 hours a week on client's sites.

I don't spend as much time on my own sites as I used to. Only about 1/2 or 2/3 as much. But I spend more on experimentation and self-study than ever before.

One of the hazzards of being "professionally idle".

Don't fear it, embrace it. To do what you want to do because you want to do it is a blessing.
