New start up Automotive Aftermarket

Hello I was wondering if anyone had any info on on how the automotive aftermarket industry is going....Im about to attempt to start a home based business selling aftermarket WHEELS, BODYKITS, HOODS ETC. My main concern is making money from what I can see there are all rdy serveral companines out there offering the same thing.........can anyone give me some info
on how to really be succesful and some common problems you have delt with from starting a e-business.......also From what i see i think dropping shipping seems like it might be my choice for products.....

I will offer up some simpler, less expensive, but more time consuming, options to learn about your particular market:

1. Use the major search engines on the Internet. Believe it or not, the Internet is a very good pulse. Go to the major search engines and search for the major competitors. Use the advanced search option. You will find tons of information on the Internet.

2. Search the Internet for information about this particular business sector. I would suggest you use a metasearch engine like Vivisimo. The search results are broken down into major categories, and there are fewer privilous listing results.

3. Go to http://www.aftermarket.org/Home.asp. That is the home page of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association. There is market research data available at that site, but for a fee.

These are only three options, but I highly suspect there will be more information in these options than you ever imagined.
