Help Needed Os Commerce Installation

Hello

I have ready templates and OS commerce 2.2 ms2 ...template is fully PHP ready to use..what i need to know i tried installing on my PC and it worked well ..except one error ...it says /tmp file not exist.. ???

is it possible to install directly on server side ..templates and oscommerce both ..can some one guide me on that step by step in case

What kind of remote server are you uploading to? Windows or Linux? For Linux, upload all files in the 'catalog' directory to your remote server in whatever directory you want to be your site url. If you want the root directory your url will be www.yoursite.com, then upload to either public_html or htpdocs (depending on your server set up). If you want another directory, create it and upload there. You'll have to create a database and write down the name of the database, your user name and password as you'll need that information for the set up.

In the 'catalog/includes' directory look for a file 'configure.php' and add the requested information before uploading. This asks for your database information.

Next open your browser to www.yoursite.com/install and follow the screens.

Not sure what exactly you are doing.

If you trying to set up a testing environment on your home computer; if your home machine is Windows check out Xampp (free program that sets up apache, mysql, php, and anything else you may need like perl or tomcat).

If you asking how do you set up osCommerce on a remote server follow Roban's instructions. If you are having a lot of trouble though, you may want to choose a Web host that offers the osCommerce (a lot of hosts offer it due to it being open source).

The above post is correct...if you are trying to install osC then just get a dedicated osC host who will install it for you. Many of the hosts which cost a few dollars a month for open source hosting wont do much...but they do give you an installed version of the platform.

Also....i always like to recomend that a user uses the Zen Cart or CRE Loaded shopping cart versions of the osCommerce platform. (Or Joomla or Virtuemart if you need a CMS option)
