Has any one used or heard anything good or bad about Monster Commerce? i am looking for a full solution, and I thought this looked complete but was unsure of the price or credability.

Monstercommerce has been around for a long time and has an active user forum that you might want to check out. They are one of our competitors and have a pretty standard price point for the features and support they offer.

I am assuming you work for Modular Merchant Shopping Cart Software! How does your system compare, price and ease of use? My biggested issue is I have no artistic skill at all.

I would be happy to private message you with more information about the software company I work for. One of the things that I might recommend you do is to compare the free trial accounts from both systems. Getting a feel for the administrative areas of both systems might answer many questions you have right out of the gate. Also, you can take a look at the screenshots sections and compare tools that way.

Please let me know if you would like a private message, I can also list some client references that you may contact.

Is that all you need is a shopping cart?

Or does your concerns about monstercommerce go beyond just the shopping cart?

I have heard of them and their prices are pretty standard compared to others. I would also visit the forums and get more info then make your choice from there.

Monster commerce is a little hard to use because the wizard isn't detailed, but nothing you can't figure out yourself! But overall it's still a good way to build your ecommerce business

All of the above is true. Once your volume and company begin to grow, you'll probably jump ship. No shipping integration, customer service lag, pricey add-ons. Checkout the admin panel of everything before you buy. That's what you're REALLY paying for and you'll have benchmarks for the future.

what so YOU want the cart to do?

It is a great firm and well respected in the industry. They have a great management team and a great product. (i am saying great a lot)

However....picking a shopping cart is more about how YOU want to use the cart. What do you need? How do you want to run your business? Some carts are perfect if you sell 100 products but try using it for 1000 or 10000 products and the limitations become clear. Some carts work better for downloadable services, etc.

You want a "full" solution, but if you list out more of the features that you need, it might be easier to have someone share some specific advice as to if the cart will work for you.

If you are only asking about a company reputation, etc.....then you should feel just fine going with the MC team. (I also know the CEO from college...but that is not a great reason to pick a cart, it is just a great reason to say...GO GENERALS!)

Warning, Do Not Use Monster Commerce

Monster Commerce used to be a good system. Now, it has been purchased by Network Solutions. NS has ran the system to the ground. Things don't work correctly. Support is terrible. They will talk to you, but they wont fix anything. Use any other system, but dont use Network Solutions Monster Commerce.

I agree with Monster going downhill after Network Solutions took over. I am currently with them and was very happy before, but now am very upset with what has happened. They migrated my site without fixing problems that they said they would fix. Now I have had to shut down my site and am searching for a new cart vendor.

I agree, Network Solutions is trouble....

my two cents: I use osCommerce with our cart packages. It is reliable and safe and has thousands of freeware plug-ins if a customer needs a niche solution to an online ordering problem.

let me know if i can help,

Network Solutions E Commerce Shopping Cart

Just reading through this message board and wanted to add my 2cents to Network Solutions new 7.x site.

I don't know who did the QA on this version but it's been nothing but a headache since the migrated me. They assured me that the only thing I would be lacking is the ability to send newsletters and now I cannot

    1. export orders with products ordered, which forces me to manually enter my orders on a spreadsheet (over 1000's products a month)
    2. have to manually enter all shipping information b/c it NOW doesn't integrate with USPS or UPS (but it worked fine before i was migrated)
    3. product variations got all messed up which I now am cleaning up
    4. no news or updates on when these issues are going to be fixed.

I am leaving network solutions and looking for a new shopping cart ASAP

    Not crazy about Monster Commerce

    Hi,

Just switched my site from Monster Commerce after a few years. I was using it via Network Solutions. I didn't like that it simply had no flexibility and my biggest gripe was that every time I had a problem, I had to sit through a 5 minute sales pitch before the tech would help me. I understand that everyone needs to make money, but when your site is down and you're not selling your all important record and tape restoration software, the last thing you need is someone asking, "would you like to purchase our Google Submission product?" Very irritating.

I switched our site to ClickCartPro from Kryptronic. They're at www.kryptronic.com and I've been very pleased so far. Their shopping cart software seems to do everything I need it to do and there are no monthly fees. Most importantly, when I was setting up my www.tracertek.com site, I called with a problem and the tech didn't try to sell me anything. <g> You might want to check it out.

    Hope this helps.
