Confused over ecommerce options

Hello,

I am planning to set up an ecommerce site but am a little confused which option is the best.

[1] Build ecommerce store front + integrate with SugarCRM and QuickBooks
[2] Build ecommerce store front + custom develop application to provide me my desired functionalities (which are similar to an expensive software).

Both costs about the same. Can anyone advise on the implications? I don't have an IT-team and hoping to implement hosted web-based based integrated solution.

Thanks!

I suggest that you take a look at Yahoo Merchant Solutions.
You can find a support forum at the following:

I think it's better to use an ecommerce software with full source codes and customize it. Development custom applications from scratch will be very expensive. Do you have any established budget for it or at least price range - <500$, <1,000$, <10,000$, etc?
