I'm very new to this and need help...if possible.

I work for a company which provides windows and web-based CRM solutions for the insurance and financial planning industry. I have been given the job of researching into augmenting our current website with e-commerce capability. This is something we would like someone else to host for us.

We want an e-commerce capability which will enable clients to come to our site, build their desired solution package and either 1) purchase it outright with a credit card, or 2) request information on the package they have indicated.

Does anyone have some possible recommendations for this job? There seem to be a million companies out there. Some have appeared very professional, but once I try calling them, they sound like something being run out of someone's garage.

I'm no expert by my own estimation, but if it were left up to me, I would try to find someplace locally, then schedule a visit to tour their facilities. I'm sure that if they are running the operation out of a garage somewhere, that you won't get an invite. Having said all of that, the old ways are saged ways. Good business is done face-to-face.
