    Drop Shippers

Can someone give me a brief overview on how drop shippers work amd what the requirements would be for someone who sells a small volume online. I believe they ship directly to your customers but what are the requirements for purchasing/selling the items?

    Thanks.

It varies from supplier to supplier. But, the majority of the ones I use require you to have an account and login. When you place an order, they require payment up front. Some suppliers, like DSDI, offer products that have MAP pricing - that is the minimum amount that you can advertise the product for (we get around those by offer %off specials from time to time). I only have 1 supplier that has a minimum order amount and I make sure to only offer those products that meet that amount. Sometimes I will double the products up to offer them as a pair just to meet the requirement. There are some sites out there also that require you to have account activity within a certain time period or they will close the account. Luckily these are not common. Just be careful to read all Terms & Conditions before you place any products on your site.

For us , ecommerce site selects products from my site that we produce at farm and we thin it down to those least likely to get delayed . They sell at our suggested retail , email us order , we charge them $10 less then retail , freight item and send them tracking .
    Not that difficult .

getting started with drop ship suppliers.

Drop shipping is for single or small order processing so it is what you need. You list their products on your site. You get the order and submit it to the supplier. They send the order to your customer with your logo or white label packaging. You have billed the client at checkout and the supplier bills you when you place the order and the difference is your profit. You can find wholesale drop ship suppliers like DSDI mentioned above at http://inventorysource.com/
