How Do Small Businesses Use Social Media for Business Information?
In my opinion, social media is currently being used by business oriented people as a way to reach their target clients and improve their businesses. It allows you to connect with your customers and potential customers on a more personal level, allowing your customers to see a real face behind the business. It also allows your customers to communicate with you in an instant.

Small businesses can directly interact with their customers to understand their perspective through social media. Customers must be encouraged to give in their reviews, positive or negative. Social media is a great source for business information as the small businesses can have direct access to customer opinion. Social media is a godsend for small businesses. Done properly, a successful social media campaign will outperform most traditional marketing strategies and do so at a fraction of the cost. Its not fast by any measure. It requires time, dedication and commitment.
There is a moderate learning curve, so you should spend a bit of time "learning the ropes." Create social profiles at as many of the social sites as possible. Post original and meaningful content. Give viewers something of value- its their payoff for taking the time to read your input. Be consistent and keep the content fresh. Don't forget to include your website address, and cross reference your posts to increase buzz.
I have successfully used social media on several business ventures, and have decreased the expected start-up time dramatically at a much lower cost per client rate.

The key is to target your clients. People live on Facebook now. The best time to share links with them is Tuesday through Thursday. I am currently adding my friends who are my target customers. I am, also, commenting on their sites. I am building relationships.
