    Do i need to file or apply for something?

    I'm looking to start up my own online ecommerce store and was wondering if I need to file or apply for something with the government to declare my new online store as a new company. thanks.

    Just normal business filings

    I don't believe there's anything special you need to do as an online business. However, there are filings you need to do to start any type of business. Your accountant or attorney can help you file your business with the appropriate local, state and federal government agencies. For example, will you be a sole proprietor, an LLC, an S-Corp.?
