    Open Source

I run some websites: www.dormoasis.com & www.z-objects.com and am in the process of launching more. After reviewing the nominations, I was suprised that the best group of technology products was omitted: open source applications! Many require extra work, but the low price is exactly what small businesses need.

    We're open to it

You're right. Next year, we should have a category devoted to open-source products. The good news for this year is that two of the finalists in the Productivity category are open source offerings: OpenOffice.org 1.1 Office Suite and Sun StarOffice 7 Office Suite -- so we are on the right track. ;-)

How did you select the ecommerce solution candidates?

I was wondering if ProductCart, our ecommerce software (www.earlyimpact.com/productcart) was considered for the site building award. If it wasn't, I would like to encourage you to include it in next year's review process, since it's definitely amont the top ecommerce site building tools available today to small businesses.

    Best Regards,
