    Rate our marketplace

    Hi all,

For the last 4 years my team and I have been working on a new social marketplace by the name of Buzzmart. We have only launched it about a month ago after having graduated from university in the UK. We have recently undergone a major update and we would therefore love to hear your suggestions and reviews, specifically regarding the fee system and layout. It is free to sign-up and free to sell your first 10 items. So please go visit us at www.buzzmart.com Thank you!

    Kind regards,

    Buzzmart Team

I like the look. The only 'complaint" I have is that I was a bit confused at the beginning as to what the website was. I usually like to see that information up front.

    Question:
Are you selling your service or pushing google ads?
You do not seem focused on your business.

main intent is to sell our service after we have get the traffic we want, the ads are an extra source of revenue. We are doing both in a sense, and over time as traffic increases we will be replacing the google ads with our own customer's ads.

youve made a very good point and I have actually often felt the same way.
I have made some sketches for the designer and next week we will change the homepage a little so that it is more clear by showing some of the listing on the homepage.

    .
    Three points on this:
    1. google ads are a red flag because they drag away from the "BRAND" you are TRYING to developing with your site
    2. with google ads on the pages -- I as an advertiser do not see value to placing any ads on your site
    3. OVER TIME -- if you do not hold your visitor's attention over your site's purpose they are not going to return "over time". You only have 1 chance to grab your customer.

    Hey all,

We've just done some more updates and thanks to online communities such as this one we are steadily growing. So a big thank you to all! Now, rather than just tell you about our new updates we at Buzzmart would prefer to tell you about 2 new Apple iPod touches 32GB 4th Gen we are going to be giving away for this Christmas holiday season.

Here are the competition rules and guidelines:

    1) Post up to 10 "real" listings on Buzzmart.com, free of charge and at no cost to you whatsoever.
    2) An undercover Buzzmart team member will purchase 1 of your listings, which is why this has to be an actual item you must have for sale.
    3) Once you have received payment and you have shipped out your listing to the undercover buyer, we will verify that it is as described and send you your free iPod touch in return!
    4) MAKE SURE THAT IN THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION YOU MENTION THE FOLLOWING "32GB4GEN" in big bold letters so we can identify those users who are taking part in the competition.
    5) All listings must follow Buzzmart guidelines as stated in the terms and conditions.
    6) Competition closes December 5th 2010, so hurry up and start selling!

    Thanks and good luck!

Seems like you've tweaked it to include the suggestions people had here. I specifically liked the flash animation that presented a lot of information in the prime space. You could have deleted the top sellers section, and put it some place else though, I don't think people would be interested just yet in that information. In its place, maybe a tutorial or youtube video on how to use your site.

Also, the benefits of using buzzmart is not clear to me.

Buzzmart has received many suggestions and feedback over the last couple of months. A number of them have been taken into consideration, discussed and implemented over the development period. Among them were the concerns and doubts about seller fees (Buzzmart credits).

It’s in our interest to make Buzzmart a social marketplace that will satisfy the needs and requirement of buyers and sellers alike, so we have taken a complete change of direction in order to achieve that:

    1) Selling is free: No fees, no credits. Just sign-up and start selling.
    2) No banner advertising: All advertising banners have been removed from the site.

We are now proud to say: Buzzmart - Your (free) social marketplace

Guys, if you like Buzzmart we would also really appreciate if you place your vote for the 2010 Mashable using this link Mashable Awards Help your young entrepreneurs as we have put a lot of time and passion into this project and we are improving the website on a daily basis based on amazing people feedback which we have received from forums such as this one.

I love your page layout. Very nice and clean. I also like the friendly looking icons. Very good. I didn't know straight away what your website did, perhaps an embedded video on the home page would be good to quickly explain what you do (under a minute or something with catchy music). But no, I really like it :-) Thumbs up!

Thank you for the nice comments.

Just want to inform everyone that buzzmart is now a completely free service and always will be. We also have a neat little micro-blogging feature that we launched this week that we are very proud of and would like people's opinions on it.
