E-commerce to sell subscription based textbook

I just published the fifth edition of a Health Informatics textbook. Given the rapid change of technology and governance, it may be impossible to publish it often enough to stay current. I cannot find a mechanism to offer the book online where on the front end readers/students can purchase chapters monthly or yearly and in the background the authors are frequently updating content. MediaWiki is the closest to the content side but not sure how I would like that to e-commerce and the need to provide a unique password to anyone who buys access to the book. I would appreciate any ideas.

I hate to see any post go unanswered so I'll only say that I do not have any experience with what you are requesting.
