Happygarg, in reply to your post, rather than avoiding javascript, just put it in the foot of the html page, grouping all the scripts together and calling them in a single file. It's laid out in Yahoo's webmaster guidelines for page speed optimisation, which is the real reason why they need to be controlled... they slow a site down while loading as modern browsers only provide 6 threads at a time (ie can only load six files at a time)
It's the Powerbook 5300 fiasco all over again- another product that doesn't work properly!
