    1. Click on Start and then choose Control Panel in Windows 7.
    2. Click on the User Accounts and Family Safety.
    3. Click on the User Accounts.
    4. In the task pane on the left, click Create a password reset disk.
    5. When the Forgotten Password Wizard appears, click Next.
    6. Choose the portable media drive to create a Windows 7 password reset disk . And then click Next to continue.
    7. With the disk or other media still in the drive, enter your current account password in the text box and click Next.
    8. Windows 7 now start to create the password reset disk. Click Next and then click Finish in the next window when the progress indicator shows 100% complete
    9. You can now remove the flash drive or floppy disk from your computer. Label the Windows 7 Password Reset disk and store it in a safe place.

Thanks for the information. If you’ve tried everything just to recover or reset your Windows password, yet nothing worked for you, it is sensible that you use a software program that will do the work for you. The software program saves you money, time and effort!

It looks to me like the method above requires you to create the Password Reset Disk before forgetting the password. Not much use to 99.99% of people. Or have I missed something?

    Hello Friends,

Windows password recovery tools are used to recover, or reset lost user and administrator passwords used to log on to Windows operating systems. Password recovery tools are often called "password cracker" tools because they are sometimes used to "crack" passwords by hackers. Legally cracking or unlocking your own Windows password is certainly a legitimate practice.
Ophcrack: The last entry in my list is also the best one. Ophcrack provides one of the fastest and most successful password recovery options. This program also comes in the form of a bootable disc image which can be used if users do not have a separate Windows user account to reset the Windows password.
John the Ripper: John the Ripper is a great freeware program that helps crack the Windows password. The application uses both paid and free wordlist files which it needs to operate.
LCP: LCP is a standard Windows program you download from LCPSoft’s website and install inside of Windows, meaning you’ll need access to a user account no the computer.
Cain and Abel: Cain and Abel is another password recovery program that we need to run from another Windows user account. The application recovers passwords impressively faster than its competition and provides several recovery methods.
Offline NT Password & Registry Editor: Offline NT Password & Registry Editor provides users with a great solution in case they have been running their computer on a single user account and have forgotten the password to it. We download a CD image from the program’s website, burn it on to disc, and boot from that CD to remove our Windows account password.

    Thanks And Regards
