i love gmail too.
my another reason is due to they analysis my personal preference, then, they can delievery my useful links in their adwords, also the searching result.
besides, the operating interface from gmail is also close to my own gut-feeling too.

For business and professional contacts, I prefer using my own website's email service as it comes along with my hosting plan. But for personal transactions, I do use gmail and I would always recommend Gmail as Google can let you access all their products using only one email.
