If your site/blog is regularly updated it is crucial that you submit a sitemap. Already mentioned by a few others, sitemaps will lead to a faster crawl and inclusion in the indexes. However, if you are unsure that your link structure is correct, do not submit your sitemap. This will help you spot problems if there are any with your site.

I think the need of SEO is evident. If you have your business online then how you'll make your potential clients notice you among millions of businesses. Of course SEO will help you, but another idea is that today there are such things as SMO and SMM - maybe they will help you more. But that's up to you to decide.

    google is raising the bar

Our website took a huge hit after the Panda update and took us to literally Completely redesign the structure of our site and our shopping cart. When we first saw our crawl errors list, the list was abysmal. Google has raised the bar, and little by little it is shunning out crappy sites! so is it necessary? definitely! simple... never.

I believe that each and every bit counts in SEO. Sitemaps are helpful for both the crawlers and the readers. I agree that content is the king but still marketing this content worth the effort.

I though site map is a basic element for a medium-large website? Unless your site is pretty small only 1-5 pages with easy navigation.

How many times do I have to say it? Sitemaps are useless for SEO if all pages can be found by a crawler anyway!

The professional experts of these services also use other strategies such as article marketing by providing content-rich articles and submitting the same to article directories, social networking sites, and press releases in order to boost the website to a higher ranking in the search engines.
