My first priority for searches is not other than Google and after it Bing AOL, Ask and Alta Vista I use. I find these also helpful to find new results on early pages that may be can't find on Google earlier.

I beg to differ. Basing from the latest statistics, Google still holds around 85% of searches done on the web. Yahoo + Bing has 13%. Ergo, at the moment, there is only one SE worth optimizing for.

I guess it's Google for almost everyone. It's the fastest and most used Search engine ever.

Google is the first search engine recommended by experts at the UC Berkeley Library, but they note that only about half the web is indexed by Google. They recommend using Yahoo! and Exalead as supplementary tools -- but they advise against using meta-search or clustering tools...

Google receives far more visitors than Yahoo, so they're the more important engine to target with SEO. With that said, never rely solely on Google for your traffic; diversify with other search engines like Yahoo, Excite, etc, and also build organic links.

It would take at 2 -3 years from now for any contender to match Google as Search engine. They are just too good. I don;t believe Yahoo would overtake them. It would me any new company, but not Yahoo or Bing.
