    Hi there

It seems you are primarily interested in monitoring your competitors prices. There several companies out there offering this service, one being competitormonitor.com

They offer a free trial so check them out, can save you a ton of time and money.

We've been using Price2Spy - price2spy.com for nearly 6 months now to monitor our competitor's product pricing and availability.
So, in less than 6 months, our turnover has grown by more than 40% It really makes a difference, and our Customers can feel it.

    Hope this helps

    halberjo,

You're welcome to mention your company site and even put a link in your signature, but there is no advertising or direct solicitation allowed.

Hi Misha... So, you sign up for a trial with us, we set you up for a month, you and your colleagues lie to us to get information, and then you set your own site up? Logo looks remarkebly like ours. Not good business practice.

Tools might not much effective you can check back link of competitor in any search engine and try to have back links from his back links sites and you will also be on top after doing the same .

I think checking on Google Product Search is probably the fastest and best ways to get an 'overall' look at the pricing on the net. Unless you're in a very price sensitive market, you probably only have to check once a week at most, or when sales drop.

Keep in mind that you don't always have to be the low price leader, especially if you haven't branded yourself as an e-commerce site based on price.

I think the first thing you need to do is to give your competitors a background check. By examining your competitors website as well as then finding out their customers are as well as what they are saying and by keeping a database of competitor's media coverage.

This is a manual thing. You should get to their site to see what strategies or promotions they are implementing, no software can do this. Yes you could subscribe to their newsletter but it will not give you the picture of what is really going on to their site.

    Cheers!

Intelliburg.com can monitor competitors for you

    (shameless advertising, but useful)
You can use intelliburg.com to scan your competitors' web pages daily for price changes. Once the robots find one, you will receive an alert.
This way you can keep track of price changes.

Hi, try tokarsa-monitor.com, you can scrap data from the price comparison sites such as google shopping or scrape data directly from the competitors websites.
After 3 months, we are just about to expand our monitoring in order to be prepared for Christmas, we monitor 44 our competitors every day.

Your quick response to our post is a perfect example of the benefit of having a monitoring system in place. I agree that in addition to monitoring your competitors, these tools are also beneficial for monitoring yourself and what people are saying about your brand.
