I measure the success of my seo campaigns through residual monthly conversions and sales. I think that's the best way to measure how successful your campaigns are.

Because everyone can bring a site to the top of Google or other search engines, but only few makes it will success in terms of sales.

Using a tool like Google Analytics and/or Google Webmaster Tools is going to help you with this.

This will make it a lot easier to see what kind of traffic your site is seeing, where it's coming from, and such forth. It'll also give you a lot of information that you can compare with sales and suchforth to see accurate conversion numbers.

I measure success by the number of customers I have. I do not worry about profit yet. This will be down the road.

You have provided some really solid information, I think people may overlook the importance on long tail keywords, but, as you pointed out, they bring in more qualified leads.

    Hope you like my reply

Measuring success of an SEO campaign is depend on many factors. However, for me, an SEO campaign is successful if it can drive good ROI for my clients. Search engine ranking is also a factor but for me, Sales is more important to it.
