Looking for a Greyhound? The Dairyland Race Track, in Kenosha, Wisconsin is looking to rehome 900 former racers. Please read below for information:

Do you have any friends looking for a new, crate-trained dog? Please read
the message that follows and pass along adoption info to anyone who might be
interested. The Dairyland Greyhound Adoption Office can be reached at (262)
612-8256.

Dairyland Greyhound Racetrack in Kenosha, Wisconsin will be closing on
December 31, 2009.

900 Greyhounds will need to be adopted otherwise they will be euthanized,
now is a great time to consider adopting a Greyhound. They are very loving
and laid back. They don't need the space people think they need. They are
great for an active family because they have been crated almost all their
lives and they sleep about 18 out of the 24 hours a day. They are just
looking for someone to love them and supply them with a warm bed!!!!

They test the dogs to see if they are cat friendly and or small dog
friendly. They also know if a dog should be a single dog or if they would be
great in a 2, 3, or 4 dog house!!!
---End Quote---
I have a friend that is going to be helping out with discounted shipping rates to get these babies to new homes. Please pass on the word.

Remote backup of large files?

I'm convinced that remote backup is the way to go but as far as I'm aware, all the lower priced services cannot do sub-file backups, i.e., only backup the part of a file that has changed. The issue is with the likes of Outlook pst files which can get pretty big, well over 1GB, which means backing up the whole file each time.

While this may not be a problem for those with ultra fast connections and unlimited bandwidth, it is an issue for those of us with limited upload speeds and monthly data quotas.

Was therefore wondering, is there such a thing as a program that can do a sub-file/bitstream backup of large files to the local PC and then just back up this smaller file and perhaps do a full backup once a month? It would need to be a software solution as we want to recommend it to clients too.

Or any other solutions to this issue?

Thanks in anticipation,
Benz1

WARNING Thunderball Marketing

Hi - I am posting in ecommerce forums so that other business owners can avoid the nightmare I have gone through with Thunderball Marketing.

I became a dealer for them Feb. 2009 and right from the beginning things just weren't right. I was expecting to receive the typical new dealer info with terms and conditions, and procedures for ordering. Not a chance. Basically it was "thanks for the $1000, and good luck figuring this out."

Every question I had was met with a very strange evasiveness or flat out rudeness. Eventually I figured out how to use their antiquated Telnet (yes I did say telnet) ordering and inventory system. They tell you when you sign up that they are implementing a new online system, but it has not happened after a year of waiting.

Today I decided to close my account with them. I requested they mail the $452 left in my account back to me. They refused to do so saying that their website states this on the front page. I looked and it certainly does not say that. You be the judge - www.tball.com

Since May, when my websiite finally went live, I have sold over $17,000 worth of their merchandise. Today when I asked them to close my account and return my $452 they became unbelievably rude saying they wouldn't deal with me, that I had returned more merchandise than I had sold. I was shocked. I have never returned even one item! In fact I have had to bend over backwards to convince customers to use the warranties to repair defective products they received from this company.

I wrote this Joe Levy guy back (I assume he owns the company, but can't be sure since I never received any real info from them) and told him I thought it was illegal for hom to refuse to give me my money back and that I would be forced to take action. Here's his response:

Go ahead

We have been in business for 35 years

We don’t need dead beat customers

Can you believe that? Avoid this company like the plague!

By only offering Google Checkout is a site losing business?

What are peoples thoughts on this? My site currently only offers google checkout. I'm curious if anyone started with google checkout and later added a checkout system that doesn't require the sign up and won't direct customers off-site to check out...and if this is you, did it increase sales? My site is a one product site that is doing 1-2k a month in sales. One product, so a simple solution will do. I feel now that sales are up and running adding the option of CC checkout on site would increase sales? Anyone? Also what is this simple checkout solution I'm looking for. Thank you!

e-commerce and storefront

We are planning to launch an e-commerce solution for a manufacturing company. We have microsoft dynamics Navision ERP software. We are buying a configurator for filtering/configuring customized products. Also we are buying a storefront/shopping cart which is already integrated with the configurator. The Storefront we are planning to buy uses C#.NET and we are planning the launch a .NET e-commerce. Finally the ecommerce slution includes ERP(Navision) --> Product Configuartor --> Storefront/Shopping Cart --> Website. We would accept payments using credit cards (the storefront supports credit card payments) We will start with customizing storefront. However I have no clue where to start.

What does the website consist of? Does it just mean adding pages to the shopping cart software or customizing its existing pages? If not, how do we go about intergating a website with Shopping Cart/Storefront?

How does hosting for such an e-commerce solution work? Do we need to find a host who supports the shopping cart/storefront software we are buying or do we just need a hosting service that can launch our website?

What about the database of the shopping cart/storefront? Does the hosting server need a maintain a separate database or just the website can be interfaced to shopping cart/storefront to access the database on our company location?

Does the shopping cart and navision database needs to be separate or can we integrate everything together? The storefront/shopping cart we are buying, also uses SQL Server.

Any help/advice/links is greatly appreciated.

For the longest time, I am thinking which is better: Magento or osCommerce?

I am pleased with the performance of Magento because there's so much you can do with it. I am also into osCommerce because of some very important reasons such as ease of editing the codes.

I have been checking out shopping cart templates that are made from both Magento and osCommerce and I can't seem to spot the difference.

Please note that I am not a guru in web developing and I an amateur shop owner.

Here is one sample template made from Magento and osCommerce. Please tell which is better

Hi friends,

This my my first post so hello everybody!

I'm moving away from Paypal due to some arbitrary and non-professional behavior from their end...but this is not the point of my post.

I have an startup online store, not a high sales volume yet, but as every new entrepreneur I hoping to grow sooner than later. I need a solution to process credit cards from my shopping cart software(Voilusion) but different than Paypal.

I haven't find any other decent 3rd party processor that I can trust

Q: ...do you guys know about any?

In the other hand, I'm researching about an Authorize.Net merchant account but I can't fully understand how many parts are involved in this.
I see in the Authorize.Net website they promote finding a "reseller"...I found a First Data website offering MUCH better "A.Net" prices than the "A.Net" site but the reviews about them(First Data) are just OUTRAGEOUS.

Q: Is it better to find a reseller of Authorize.Net account? Don't they sell by themselves?

Q: Do you guys know any good "A.Net" reseller?

Q: What do I need in order to fully implement an Autorize.Net credit card processing from my shopping cart software?

I hope is not too much for my first post...

Thanks in Advance!
