The tip about follow up emails on orphaned shopping carts is right on the money. I started doing this for one of my sites a little over a year ago. My message reads in a nutshell "It appears you are having some trouble at the checkout, if you simply chosen to leave we wish you the best and hope you return, otherwise here is an overview" with a 1-2-3 screenshot guide showing what to expect. This goes out approximatly 4 hours after the cart has been abandoned andn also includeds phone and email support numbers.

I've seen on average a 20% conversion of these abandoned carts with that percentage going as high as %50 during the Christmas season. It's probably the most profitable enhancement I've made to my primary store.

The reality is I know people are not having 'technical difficulties' but using that excuse shows concerns and gives me a reason to followup with them. I also have this email come from my account directly not a "no-reply customer support" address".

1. Insert keywords within the title tag so that search engine robots will know what your page is about. The title tag is located right at the top of your document within the head tags.

2. Use the same keywords as anchor text to link to the page from different pages on your site.

3. Make sure that the text within the title tag is also within the body of the page.

4. Do not use the exact same title tag on every page on your website.

5. A big site needs a site map, which should be linked to from every page on the site. This will help the search engine robots find every page with just two clicks.

Link all possible sites together. Just my 2 cents.

just concentrate on quality web directories for free and paid submissions. Be sure to make a paid submission in a category that is relevant and has less sites in it. for example i wont be looking at the 110th site in the related category for office products. I HOPE YOU GET THE POINT.

If you're really on a budget you almost don't even have to touch the paid listings, just be smart and aggressive with google.

if I were you I'd make a blog or 2, so you can start linking your website and blogs come up on google pretty easily. Start submitting your website to directories and your blog as well.

Your site is not live right now. It appears that it is parked. When will you put it online? In order to give you good advice, I'd need to see your site and its coding.

Well, you need both XML sitemap and HTML sitemap. First one help crawling and second keeps all your pages fresh...

For starters, use Wordpress to build your site. According to Matt Cutts from Google, Wordpress contains "80-90% of all the SEO mechanics" you'll ever need built right into the platform. For quick and easy SEO, wordpress is the way to go.

Here is another excellent SEO tips link for you. This story used a site that a forums member posted in the "rate My Site" section. I found an SEO expert who was willing to look at the Web shop and provide SEO advice to help the site owner.

Honestly, I have been using this expert's tips (Tim Nebergall of Front Page Rankings, Inc.) on a Web site I maintain since doing this story back in April of this year. I have had some amazing success. After implementing his SEO advice I have seen *many* pages go from page 2 and 3 in Google search results to number 1 or 2 listings for the keywords and phrases I choose.

There is really some excellent tips and advice in this story. It is written for Web shop owners (as it was published on EcommerceGuide) but the advice fits for any site you want to try a little "SEO magic" on.
