Hi!

First of all, I need to say that I like this forum - very useful information.

Now, my question. I am setting up a web-shop myself. I am trying to figure out how to display small pictures of the products with some text in one webpage, so that the page would still be small enough to download within 5 seconds.

I am using Adobe Go Live and Frontpage (which is really primitive). Also I can generate things in Photoshop.

Thanks, Janika

Hi,
What you need to do is to generate thumbnails of your full sized pictures - there is plenty of software applications that can automatically do this for you e.g. mythumbnails by anixsoft. These small pictures will load quickly so that your products page doesn't take ages to load.

Rather than coding your own shop you could use OSCommerce which is a full featured e-commerce website (it's open source so free!), one of the many add-ons for it will automatically generate a thumbnail on the fly for you and display them on the page.

Why would you be using FP *and* GoLive? They do basically the same thing. Personaly, I'd ditch FP and stick with GL. GL integrates better with Photoshop anyway and you don't have to worry about strange (and oversized) page coding.
