Can I setup donation through my shopping cart.

I want to implement donations into my shopping cart. I will donate $1 for every $50 spent. I want to be able to list several charites and have the customer choose which they would like the money to go to.How could I do this possibly all automatically although I don't think that is possible. Just beginning thoughts here.

I would imagine that a gift subscription would do it if your cart supports it. If you have a Pay Pal account and the Pay Pal account information of your charities you can also do it that way. Just make your donation a product and have it paid directly into the charity account.

Well I would first look at the cart you are using. See if they offer an add-on. I doubt it since most businesses don't offer this unfortunately.

And then how would you pick the NPOs? That would be something else that would be difficult since there are thousands of them. Offering this option is great but you might lose a few sales because of the NPOs you do / don't support and you might gain some also.

But you have to also ask yourself is it worth it? You will be adding quite a bit of additional bookkeeping on your end, especially if sales soar.

I would only offer three to five NPO's. I will look further into it.
