Hello:

I am a new business owner/operator. I have been trying to follow the small business forums for ways to promote my website without being a spammer. What can you guys teach me?

Several effective promotion methods:

- Optimize your website for seeking high search engine ranking.

- Establish your link exchange campaign. To save you time, you can use link management software like linkautomate (http://www.linkautomate.com) to automate the management process.

- Purchase targeted newsletter ad. If a newsletter offers good content, and to your targeted visitors, you may consider it.

- If you are also selling in your local area, do offline promotion also.

I have been hearing a lot about this. I have a webmaster service that assists me. They say my site it scoring very well according to their tool.

But, when I have asked others (from the forums)to look at my site, I get alot of negative (constructively negative, though)feedback.

When you say optimize, what do you mean? Do you have a tool that helps you with your site?

Can you check out my site? Incorporate Online (http://www.nev-corp.com)? I am a professional incorporation firm.

Thanks for your time and feedback!

Regards,
NPark

Hello

Quickly visiting your site, I notice the load time is excessive.
If you would like to see how optimize your website is.
Enter some of your keywords in Google see how well you rank.
The optimization of the website should also include having compliant (x)html / css. This allows for proper parsing of your website.

You can check the code here

Hello to all!

Thanks to you guys that have given me some suggestions regarding my website. I have made some changes, including taking out documents that were pasted direct from Word Document Format and changing them to web friendly format. I was told this was a main reason for such sluggish loads.

Now I load in under 10 secs. Sometimes within 5. Is this a good load time? Does the site still look okay? Any further suggestions? go to www.nev-corp.com

Thanks again,
NAPark

Hello Nicole

It is still taking very long to load. I am trying it from a Cable Broadband connection.

You can use this evaluation link to see where the bottleneck is.

Thanks, yes you are right...at least this morning you were. The site was at a crawl. But this afternoon, it is back to premium speeds. So what gives? I don't get it/

Also, I am going to start a new thread asking for direct input on the content of my site. I am hearing that it does nothing for the potential consumer in keeping their interest. What would?

Should you have any suggestions, let me know. Thanks for your input already!

Nicole

If you have made no changes, I would be looking at the hosting company.
I notice that websitepro designs and hosts your site. It is very possible that you are sharing the space with 2K+ other clients.

During peak times your site will load slower.

to optimzie your site, it doesn't mean the load time though it affects how your visitors perceive your site.

Optimization means making your site appeals to visitors and search engines. As a result, your site get good rankings in serch engines and then appeal visitors to click and really read your site's info.

Optimization is an art, and you can't just depends on a tool and the scores they provide.

You need to incorprate keyword phrases in your sales copy/site content, and have many incoming links pointing to your site.
