Hi all, I'm currently looking for ecommerce site search products (for research not my own site). If anyone has any experience with a good one and would recommend it, please let me know.

I'm looking for options that perform better than your basic database match search engines (e.g. some extra features like 'Add to cart' from the search results, options to search by brand, by price, or perhaps manufacturer's part number, perhaps relevant searches that move the most popular products to the top of the search results, that sort of thing).

Thanks for any help!

You can take a look at Mondosoft, they have a great site search that can handle everything you mentioned but it is pricey.

I've posted about the topic several times on my blog (see sig) and I spent a lot of time evaluating vendors for e-commerce site search in '06. What budget range are you researching?

We use Mercado (http://www.mercado.com) on our martial arts site (http://www.karatedepot.com) and are in the process of implementing it on our magazines site (http://www.magsdirect.com).

Added features usually include ability to implement promotions, business based sorting, etc. All the software packages do are return xml of the results of the query with the data on those results. The ability to add to cart from the search page would be on the platform/integration side.
