URL Addict Seeks Support Group

My name is dvdtvshows and I am a URL addict.
I bought my last URL one day ago.
Altogether I have purchased over 1,000 URLs in the last 5 years.
I am seeking an online support group.
Stop me before I buy again.

Any net gain in the money dept.? Have you sold any? For what price?

We own several ourselves. Most, like what you listed, are variations of what we put online. We purchased most of them simply to "protect" the ones we use. That's not to say, however, that we would not sell some of them ... if the price were right.

To answer The Old Sarge's question.
No. Never sold any, don't publish any AdSense pages either.
I just use them to protect the trade name.
The URLs I own all just auto-forward back to the dvdtvshows.com URL.

I found out the hard way the a compound trade name is a bad idea.
dvdtvshows has three parts and they, in any order, all need to be protected.
At least that was my rationale for starting the addiction.

But then friends couldn't get the name straight, so I bought dvdtvstore and dvdtvsite and hddvdtvshows and ...

But any good addict will tell you that they only intend to just have one more....

I just caught this thread posted a couple months ago, but couldn't resists a reply. That's NUTS! heh, I get annoyed at having to pay for the two domains I have registered, I can't imaging dealing with that many at one time. I understand your rationale behind starting the domain registrations... but I'd say its gone far beyond that now! :)

A bit like The Old Sarge -- I'd gladly sell the two I do have... if the price was right.

Well it's not uncommon for a company, particularly a larger one, to purchase a slew of other domains related to their main one. Misspellings, variations, etc.

On a hopeful note, I have recently allowed some 40 URLs to lapse.
I take this as a sign of improvement.
This letting them go is hard...

What's the right number of URLs 900? 800? even less?

There was not quite enough money, but I just had to have that domain...

Now I am in recovery.

I am trying to sell almost all the domain names.
I am looking for a domain broker to sell 324 names for a start.
Things like: tvshowfans.com completetvseries.com tvanimes.com

I found a reference to a forum for domain name addicts called DNForum.com in these forums. That's where I am trying sell the domain names.
I'm selling the group of 324 domains, another group of 75 domains, another of 26 domains, plus another group of 73 domains.
There appears to be a whole market buying and selling domain names (the community doesn't seem to like the URL term).

But I must be strong, only sell, do not buy,
I have no money, I must NOT buy...
I MUST SELL...

I got very compulsive, as most addicts do.
