Hi everybody,

I could really use some ideas about any cool niche business idea that would sell well online. No, I don't intend to compete with you, I am located in Romania and I'm trying to implement here a niche idea that has proven itself profitable in other parts of the world.

Thank you all!

I gott abe honest with you, presidio . . . . You're pretty much asking people to create your business idea for you. Truth of the matter is, if someone knows of a niche market/product - chances are that they will want to pursue it for themselves.

My advice, as someone who is pretty new to this whole business as well, is to use the Keyword Selector Tool on http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com/rc/srch/ and investigate how many times people have searched for particular items/keywords over the last several months. Be creative and try to think of items you would enjoy selling and, in addition, could offer some insight about when/if a customer asks questions about them.

Not trying to put you off .... just offering you some friendly advice on how to discover niche markets/products on your own.

HI Captain,

Thank you for replying to my post. Indeed...I may be asking too much....

But on the other hand, if someone notices a niche e-commerce site that sells good in the USA and doesn't feel like opening a similar one to compete with it...why not give me a tip to look into that idea? I would not compete with anyone since I'm located in Romania and I would offer a 6 pack to whoever tips me:)

Thank you for the advice to look into keywords searches...although I'm not sure how to link kewords to a marketable niche e-commerce site.

Any other thoughts are welcome.

Isn't there any directory listing e-commerce sites where I could find my inspiration?

Regards

Holy Moly .... Just search practially anything on a search Engine and you'll find eCommerce sites.

I tell you what, here is a great starter place for you . . . it's where I first got my inspiration . . .
---> http://www.yahoo-store-builder.com/

Granted, the premise of the site is to sell an online course on creating an eCommerce site - using Yahoo Store Builder. HOWEVER, if you look through the many "Reviews" they provide on the site, you will see many comments from people with eCommerce stores - most of whom provide links to their websites. Whether they are using a particular Shopping Cart software package is irrelevant.

So, there is one starting point for you.

You see the Net has thrown up a world of opportunities. Why don't you try the one in my signature file?

Another key is to start small with the cheapest hosting solution (there are ecommerce hosting offers as low as $2.99 monthly you can find with a keyword search) and money saved used for marketing purposes to get word out about your business, like a keyword campaign.

Another part of the menu could be: there are a number of ways to promote your site free of cost. Just keep your mind open and don't look down on the word "free". Yeah, That's true indeed. Several sites that don't really invite high traffic but do evoke targeted response offer free advertising.

Does your area offer niche PPC advertising..

If you have the budget start PPC Ad network that cators to your area....

Why not.. it has been done.. and might even be purchased by one of the larger networks down the road...

try to search keywords at http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/ and you will find how much (relatively) people searched for a given product or service. It will give you some ideas what people need.

I am always looking for people to sell my wares(and compete against me).. The more people selling.. My biggest customers are resellers on ebay.. Something I used to do.. but found this easier, instead of sending out 50 ebay orders a day for 10k a week, I send out 4 large to to my ebay sellers.. (large orders) and let them do the leg work so I can promote my sites, as well as offer my e-commerece site skills to other compaines/business owners.

Maybe not a niche, but if you can find a company that is smaller, and will ship to your customers.. and all you have to do at the most is fax/email the order, then you will be set for a very very long time (no shipping/invertory worries) And one day when/if you get big enough, you can purchase directly from the manufacture or a top tier distributor and really make the money (higher overhead and less free time though)
I am one of those stay at home dads who does well enough so mom doesn't have to work either

Thank you for this idea. I have tried ebay but because I am located in Eastern Europe, the items take 2 weeks to ship to the US and the cost is very high making the total cost uncompetitive.
