ASPs have provided an outsourcing option to companies for around ten years. However, up until 2001, the need for strong partnerships between the ASPs and their customers was largely ignored and the challenge of integrating the offerings of the ASP generally neglected. Even today, with the attention of the industry turning toward establishing such relationships between ASPs and their customers, there are significant challenges to overcome. Many of the solutions offered today require a considerable amount of resources from the client in terms of time, money and a technically skilled workforce. For Small and Medium sized Enterprises in particular, this can provide a barrier to adopting any form of integration with ASPs.
As part of my research as a doctoral student at Brunel University, I am looking at the perceptions that are held of ASPs and the ability to integrate them. Analysing these perceptions will contribute to ongoing research into addressing the issues raised with ASP integration. To this end, I have produced an online questionnaire and am seeking participants to take part and provide me with their opinions.
The questionnaire will take no more than 6 minutes to complete and is all based online, completely anonymous and strictly confidential. It would be greatly appreciated if you could take the time to complete it and provide you views. Also, if you know of anyone else who this survey may be suitable for (both within your company and outside) then please forward this on to them.
The aggregate results of the survey will be made public and will be available for you to access by April. The research as a whole is also being submitted for publication and will be available from a published journal in the near future.
