My name is Stephen I own a small business retailing ladieswaer, specializing in evening, prom and ball outfits. I am based in Durham city North east England.
I am selling on ebay but now need to progress on to my own website so as to offer all my stock for sale.
I have a broadband connection into the shop but currently have no computerized sale or stock control, poor I know but I have only been is business for two years and staff take up so much time.
What I am looking for is shop software linked up with a website, using the same database so one item can be offered for sale in the shop and online but be removed from the database when sold. Reel time communication between the two is the only way I can see this being a success.
I also require the system to link up with the basic sage accountancy software.
As always budget is key, I am unsure of how sales are going to be online so I do not want to jump in for a fully designed website. I am happy to start out with a cart template or os commerce.
This is by no means my field of expertise and I am good at taking criticism so please advise where you think I am over looking something.
I am currently thinking about going with cybertill ? Any comments ? Something cheaper would be fab.
Do you know any one who have a similar set up ? ?
Thank you for your time.
Stephen.

We use AbleCommerce for our shopping cart. You can find it here: http://www.ablecommerce.com/ It works great and is very customizable.

We also use Order Manager from ********* for the order fulfillment side. You can find it here: http://www.*********.com/ Once we made the switch to Order Manager, we have really streamlined the process.

Let me know if you have any questions about either.

Hi Stephen: We have a mail order and storefront business. We use MIVA for our shopping cart system, hosted with http://www.Hostasaurus.com and Stone Edge's Order Manager http://www.*********.com -- works fantastic!

You didn't do anything. I believe the poster above was referring to the 2 posts following yours.

sorry Stephen,

You need to have a healthy speticism about what people write in forums -- especially when they don't really answer the questions you raise.

I hope someone will come along with some serious answers.

OK. And how would it be possible to help you, if rules of the any public forums prohibit self promotion (rightly so) and your e-mail is disabled? Send me e-mail or PM your request and I will reply.
