I work with Smorty.com you may like to look into it as the system is very developed with features and we often receive comments on it's superiority to these other softwares. The shopping carts are free to set up and free to use, Smorty generates revenue on 1% over your sales commissions. It's affordable but certainly not cheap as you will find out, nothing to lose :)

I've been using Volusion for about 4 months now and I think they are very good. Good SEO and tons of options, I don't know what 60% of it does but when I want to do something I call their support line and they usually have a feature that does it.
Their support people are pretty knowlegable but can be rude and seem to want to get off the phone. I doesn't bother me too much because they always answer the phone and can usually help me with my problems.
Their Firefox support is lacking, especially on the back end and my rollovers dont work right most of the time in FF. Their paid SEO and webdesign services are pretty pricey ($400 for a logo with 5 revisions??) but I will probably go with them when I decide to upgrade my site.
Hope this helps!

Yes, I agree there are a ton of features on volusion and you probably won't know or need them all. But they are there when you need them.
That said--to get the SEO benefits, you need to do a LOT of work. I can't think of another cart that offers as much for SEO for the bucks. There's probably another thread on this but whether this is best really depends on your needs.
- offering different prices to different groups and coupon codes
- you control the SEO url to some extent
- download froogle feed- works great
- add options
not so good- if you are tracking inventory, you'll find that if you have options, you'll use up hte items fast. If not tracking INV, then it does not matter anyway.
Ecommerce with SEO is the way to go :)

Check out http://www.AspDotNetStorefront.com and this is equally good too, in terms of all the feature sets ...
The interesting part is it integrates with backend Quickbooks and even better they are seamlessly integrated with Interprise Suite (Enterprise/ERP solution)...
I tried to knock on Volusion doors for reseller program, lol the guy doesn't even know how to respond back to solution providers, anyways guys check both the solution and see the pros and cons ....
Few pointers here
1. E-Commerce solution shld have capability to be hosted or deployed on your server
2. Solution shld have extensive product catalog management with features like Kits, Item matrix and pricing schemes
3. Extensive Payment methods for broader payment transactions with lesser %age for each transaction
4. SEO & SEM capability very IMPT to tap into search engine traffic
5. Built in Analytics would be wise to have if Google Analytics is not available
6. Upgrade path if your company grows and eliminate double entry
7. React to latest technology including RSS, data feeds, blogs, forums etc
Of course all of this at affordable prices ...
