When google changed their algorithm last august, our yahoo website dropped off the face of the earth. After trying for several months to get our previous status back, we decided to launch a brand new site on a different domain that would allow us more flexibility and would eventually replace our yahoo website.

I'd just like to get an outsiders perspective on the site, I think it's good but I'm sure it's not "perfect" and I'll be the first to admit that I don't know everything about SEO and web layout and whatnot.

The website is http://www.desktoppapersupplies.com

Any suggestions, comments or criticism is more than welcome!

Thank you

Well you have no keywords at all in any meta tag, but fortunately that's not at the top of the list for google bots. You're using text links, which it loves though. I don't see anything that would impede ranking. I'd probably add some meta keywords though, since they do help a little.

Your website is static HTML pages but not optimized for search engines to crawl and index it. Looking at the code you have all your style sheet in the begining of the html page and all your content is pushed below which defeats the purpose...

You got to optimize your pages and you should talk to your shopping cart vendor and see if they can fix their code ....

Thanks for the recommendations.

I contacted the webcart guy and I'm waiting for him to get back to me on optimizing the code.

As far as meta tags are concerned, from basically everything I've read over the past few months, meta tags are useless. Is it really worth the time it'll take to add the key words? If it is, then I'd obviously do it, even if it was just on our more popular items.
