Sales have dropped off quite a bit recently. I suspect there are some usability problems, but I feel like I'm a bit too close to the project to find solutions.

1. Using the word 'Activate' on the page seems like jargon.
2. I've seen a few more dropped sessions on our credit verification info page, and airtime plan selection screens than on other pages.

Feedback on those or other problems would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

The site looks good right amount of content and graphics used there are several reasons why it could be going wrong, I just tried to shop on your site and see if Iwould buy a phone service from your site and here are my thoughts .....

1. First remove the image which says "Activate" coz I'm buying not activating let's use a known terminology on shopping cart

2. Make the font to bold whereever you have "Buy ...." and dont need to hide the 50$ rebate say it clearly to gain confidence

3. Take the shopper into your item details page and from here onwards you need to make necessary changes
a. I would suggest to have an option on top which shows how many steps I need to go through to place an Order, this is important coz if you say people are dropping of your checkout that means they got frustrated with not knowing how many options you are asking them to fill, so making them aware of steps would be improve usability and awarness such as

Step 1: Add to cart | Step 2: Choose Local area | Step 3: Choose Plan | Step 4: Choose whatever you get the idea
Step 6: Payment Information
Step 7: Order Confirmation

And most importantly you have all this steps in a child window I would suggest to have it on the parent window so that way people can see whether your site is secured (https) and if the transaction is going through secure mode VERY IMPT I dont see that in child window...

AlsoI noticed there is no way to add accessories along with the main item you got to give option for shoppers to click checkbox and add along with the item ...

In order to get a good idea you should visit some of the mobile sites like tmobile or At&T and see how they do and repeat the same steps ...

Thanks for the helpful suggestions InfoSourcing. I did make what changes I could without needing to go into a lot of testing to update the page.

Cheers

The site looks much better now, but you could still enhance it by highlighting the steps 1/6 by specifying "1/6 - Choose City", 2/6 - Choose your plan" etc

Let us know if this works and we can further look into it as we progress...

Thanks, I added some highlighting of steps. Still no paid orders yet, but I've noticed more people completing that wizard.
